Enhanced Personal Support Worker Certificate Training

This 9 hour certificate program is designed to enhance the knowledge and awareness of dementia to front line workers, enabling them to provide quality care for persons with dementia.

The Personal Enhanced Support Worker Certificate Training is offered at the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, or at your facility.

When:
  Part One:
    Tuesday, 5:00 to 8 p.m. June 24, 2008
  Part Two:
    Thursday, 5:00 to 8 p.m. June 5, July 3, July 24, 2008
  Part Three:
    Monday, 5:00 to 8 p.m. June 23, 2008
    Thursday, 5:00 to 8 p.m. July 10, 2008

Where: Alzheimer Society of Toronto, 2323 Yonge Street, Suite 500, See Map.

Training provided at the Alzheimer Society of Toronto

Part One:

Program consists of: One 3 hour seminar
Topics Covered: Overview of Alzheimer's disease, Communication Skills

Part Two:

Program consists of: One 3 hour seminar
Topics Covered: Responsive Behaviours, Working with Families
Please Note: You must attend Part One before registering for Part Two.

Part Three

Program consists of: One 3 hour seminar
Topics Covered: Aging Simulation, Activities of Daily Living, Therapeutic Activities
Please Note: You must attend Part Two before registering for Part Three.
Certificate of participation awarded upon completion of Part Three.

  • Three - 3 hour sessions (as shown above) or Six - 1 1/2 hour sessions
  • Can be customized to your facility/agency need
  • Participants must attend all sessions in order to receive certificate
