Hardship Fund

The Hardship fund was created to assist residents of the City of Toronto such as senior citizens or employed low-income earners who are not eligible for Ontario Works, and who require to purchase medically based items. Persons not in receipt of social assistance may be assessed for benefits based on an income assessment. An application is taken and an income assessment is used to determine if the person is not financially able to purchase the item.

The Hardship fund was established under the approval of Toronto City Council.
